NEWS ROUNDUP

DISPOSITION: Colliers sells cold storage facility in Jacksonville, FL for $3.55M. Colliers has facilitated the sale of 5441 West 5th Street in Jacksonville, Florida. The property features a 45,873 SF tri-temperature food-processing facility. The buyer was TFI USA Properties LLC, an affiliate of Thomas Foods Intl. Eric Bumgarner, Joseph Turri, and Michael Cassidy with Colliers represented the seller, Tyson Foods subsidiary The Bruss Co., in the transaction.

UPDATE: In the September 24 edition of Cold Storage Daily, we mentioned Morgan Stanley’s acquisition of 6660 Broughton Avenue in Columbus, Ohio, for $22M. We now know that JLL advised on that transaction. The JLL deal team included Sean Devaney, Ed Halaburt, Kurt Sarbaugh, Cameron Chandra, Dan Wendorf, Joe Davis, Matthew Collins, Dave Berglund, and Colin Ryan.

LEASE SIGNED: Cushman & Wakefield leases cold storage in North Bergen, NJ. Cushman & Wakefield has facilitated the leasing of 8250 West Side Avenue in North Bergen, New Jersey. The property features a 52,000 SF freezer and cold storage facility. Frank DiTommaso, Jeff Volpi, and Bill Waxman with CushWake represented the landlord, Signature Acquisitions, in the transaction.

FINANCING: Barber Partners gets $59.8M refi loan for DFW cold storage. Barber Partners has received a refinancing loan for 2500 I-35 West in Denton, Texas. The variable-rate loan was provided by Barings. The property features a 302,915 SF cold storage facility developed in partnership with Bain Capital. Kevin Kelly with CBRE is currently marketing the property for lease.

DEVELOPMENT: CJ Logistics opens cold chain logistics center in Kansas City. CJ Logistics has opened a new facility at 27302 West 159th Street in New Century, Kansas. The property features a 291,175 SF logistics center, 180,000 SF of which is leased to Flora Food Group. Kevin Coleman leads the CJ Logistics America team.

DEVELOPMENT: Polaris Cold breaks ground on facility in Buffalo, NY area. Polaris Cold Storage has broken ground on a $13.5M cold storage facility at 6410 Inducon Drive West in Sanborn, New York. When completed, the property will feature an 80,000 SF cold storage facility. The Polaris team is led by Donald Timm Jr.
