JOINT VENTURE: RLCold and DHL form partnership to develop more than 5M SF of cold storage. RLCold and DHL Supply Chain have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop more than 5M SF of next-gen, multi-temperature cold storage facilities. “[The partnership] will close the critical gaps in today’s cold-chain infrastructure and develop smarter, technology-enabled facilities online where they’re needed most,” says DHL Supply Chain’s President, Consumer North America, Dennis Lutwen. According to RL Cold President Josh Lewis, “Together… we can deliver purpose-built, operationally optimized, and flexible warehouses faster and at scale across North America.”

FINANCING: Karis Cold gets $53.6M loan backed by Charlotte metro area cold storage. Karis Cold has secured a loan backed by 3623 Lazy Hawk Road in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Prime Finance Partners originated the loan. The property features a 277,785 SF cold storage facility developed in 2024. Hissho Sushi Inc. currently leases 82,107 SF at the facility and plans to use the space as its new corporate headquarters and main distribution center. Turner Wisehart and Stephen Bridges with OnPace Partners are currently marketing the remaining SF for lease.

ACQUISITION: Argosy and B&D buy cold storage facility in Boston metro for $9.15M. A partnership between Argosy Real Estate Partners and B&D Holdings has acquired 1668 Shawsheen Street in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. The property features a 34,100 SF cold storage facility. The B&D deal team included Robert Logan, Devon Geraghty, and Jack Shulman.

ACQUISITION: Cold Summit buys 41 AC in Pasco, WA, for $6.2M. Cold Summit has acquired a 41 AC parcel in the Reimann Industrial Center, which is located west of WA-395 in Pasco, Washington. With the purchase, Cold Summit expands its holdings at the development to 72 AC. The company plans to start construction of a cold storage facility at the site in the second half of 2026.

CONSTRUCTION: Arctic Cold gets 3.5MW rooftop solar energy system at new Santa Maria, CA, location. REC Solar is building a 3.3MW rooftop solar system at Arctic Cold’s cold storage facility at 1349 La Brea Avenue in Santa Maria, California. The project is expected to offset about 83% of energy use and save the company an estimated $850K in year one. Timothy Dayton leads the Arctic Cold team.
