JOINT VENTURE: Americold, EQT close $1.3B cold storage JV. Americold Realty Trust has finalized a joint venture (JV) with EQT, which has taken a 70% stake in a portfolio managing 12 cold storage facilities valued at more than $1.3B. Americold will retain a 30% ownership interest and serve as the platform’s manager. The company also received about $1.1B of net cash proceeds from the transaction that it plans to use to repay debt and reduce its balance sheet. Rob Chambers leads the Americold team, while the EQT Active Core Infrastructure team is led by Alexander Greenbaum.

LEASE SIGNED: Voit Real Estate leases cold storage in Fullerton, CA. Voit Real Estate’s Zehner Hill Group has facilitated the leasing of 500 Burning Tree Road in Fullerton, California. The property features a 62,697 SF cold storage facility. The transaction helped earn the team a CoStar Power Broker Quarterly Deals award for Q2 2026. Adam Hill and Mitch Zehner represented the tenant in the transaction.

GROUNDBREAKING: FreezPak Logistics begins construction on cold storage facility in Elizabeth, NJ. FreezPak Logistics has announced the groundbreaking of a state-of-the-art cold storage facility in Elizabeth, New Jersey. When complete, the facility will feature up to 9,849,000 CF of temperature-controlled capacity. This will be the company’s 2nd location in Elizabeth and 7th in the Garden State overall. FreezPak affiliate Saoud Development is developing and building the facility. The FreezPak/Saoud Development team is led by Dave Saoud.
